Settings Module Overview
Welcome to the Settings Module Overview, here we will explore the various settings available to fine-tune your library's operations. This module empowers you to manage Barcode Handling, Label Definitions, SCIS Settings, Email Notifications, and the library Calendar. Let's get started!
Barcode Handling
In the "Barcode Handling" section, you can generate unique barcodes for your resources and print them on A4 label sheets.
- Click on "Barcode Handling."
- Enter the number of barcode sheets you wish to print.
- Click "Generate."
- A PDF file containing the barcode labels will be created. You can then print these labels on A4 label sheets.
Label Definitions
The "Label Definitions" section allows you to manage label settings, including adding, editing, or deleting label definitions. You can configure the system to use labels of any size.
- Access "Label Definitions."
- Add, edit, or delete label definitions as needed.
- Configure label sizes by following the instructions for each letter (A, B, C, D, E, F) and entering the measurements in millimetres.
- Click "Save" to apply your label settings.
SCIS Settings
In "SCIS Settings," you can add or update your SCIS credentials, ensuring seamless integration with SCIS services.
- Access "SCIS Settings."
- Enter your SCIS username and password.
- Click "Save" to update your credentials.
Email Handling
"Email Handling" provides options to edit your email notifications for various library events, including Overdue, Reservations, Damaged Resources, and End of Year Notices.
- Access "Email Handling."
- Use the Actions button to select the "Edit" option for the notification you want to customise.
- Type your desired message.
- Click "Save" to save your email notification settings.
Calendar
The "Calendar" tool is designed to set up working days and closures for your library. This feature helps control due dates for resources.
- Access "Calendar."
- Define your library's working days and days when it will be closed.
- Control due dates: When a resource's due date falls on a non-working day, the system automatically adjusts it to the following working day.
- You can choose to include Saturdays and Sundays as non-working days, either manually or by ticking the provided boxes.
- Click "Save" to confirm your calendar settings, an essential part of your library's Start of the Year Procedure.
