Edit Patrons
Welcome to our tutorial on managing patron records in BiblioTECH's web app. In this tutorial, we will walk you through the step-by-step process of viewing, editing, changing passwords, and deleting patron records. Editing Patron Details
To make changes to a patron's record, start by locating the patron within the Patrons Manager.
- Log in to BiblioTECH's web app and navigate to the dashboard.
- In the dashboard, click on the "Patrons" button to access your library's patron database.
Once you've identified the patron whose details you wish to modify, follow these steps:
- Click on the Actions drop-down menu located next to the patron's name.
- From the drop-down menu, select the "Edit" option. This action will open a form where you can make changes to the patron's information, including their contact details, loan permissions, group and level.
- After making the necessary changes, don't forget to click the "Save" button to update the patron's record with the new information.
Changing a Patron's Password
If a patron needs to update their password for security reasons or any other purpose, follow these steps:
- Begin by finding the patron's record within the Patrons Manager, as demonstrated in the previous section.
Once you've located the patron, use the Actions drop-down menu for the following steps:
- Click on the Actions drop-down menu.
- From the drop-down menu, select the "Change Password" option. This feature provides a secure way to modify the patron's password.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to change the password. Be sure to enter the new password as requested.
- Remember to save the changes once the new password is set. This ensures that the patron's password is updated securely.
