Label Definitions
Welcome to our tutorial on adding a custom label definition in BiblioTECH's label management system. This feature allows you to configure labels according to your specific requirements, ensuring that they perfectly match your resources. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to create a custom label definition:
Launch Label Definitions
- Log in to your BiblioTECH account. Once logged in, you'll be directed to the dashboard, your central hub for library management.
- In the dashboard, locate the "Settings" section in the side menu.
- From the dropdown menu that appears when you click "Settings," select "Label Definitions." This is where you can manage and create label definitions for your library resources.
Select Paper Size
In the "Label Definitions" section, you'll start by selecting the appropriate paper size for your label sheets.
- Find the "Label Page" dropdown menu.
- Click on the dropdown, and you'll see two paper size options: A4 and A3. Choose the size that corresponds to your label sheets. This ensures that your label definitions match your specific label paper.
Create a Custom Name
In the "Label Definitions" section, you'll also notice a text box labelled "Custom Name." Here, you can provide a unique name for your label definition. This name helps you identify and select your custom label definition when configuring resources.
- Click inside the "Custom Name" text box and type in a name for your new label definition. Make it descriptive and easily recognisable for future use.
Measure the Label Sheet
To create a custom label definition that perfectly matches your label sheets, you'll need to measure the label sheet dimensions. This is crucial for ensuring that your labels align correctly when printed.
- Use a ruler or measuring tape to measure your label sheet. Ensure that you follow the specific instructions presented on the image. Each measurement corresponds to a letter:
- Sheet Margins: Labelled as "A" and "B" on the image.
- Label Spacing: Labelled as "C" and "D" on the image.
- Label Size: Denoted as "E" and "F" on the image.
- Measure the actual dimensions of these elements on your label sheet.
Save Your Custom Label Definition
Once you've completed the measurements and entered the custom name, it's time to save your label definition.
- Look for the "Save" button, typically located at the bottom of the page.
- Click on the "Save" button to store your custom label definition in the system.
Editing Label Definitions
- Access Label Definitions: To edit an existing label definition, navigate to the Label Definitions section as mentioned earlier.
- Locate the Label Definition: Find the label definition you wish to edit from the "Label Definition" list.
- Edit Measurements: Edit Measurements: Click on the Actions button next to the label definition you want to edit. This will open an editing interface where you can modify the measurements for that label size. Update the measurements of A, B, C, D, E, and F as needed..
- Save Changes: After making your changes, be sure to save them by clicking the "Save" button.
Deleting Label Definitions
- Access Label Definitions: To delete a label definition, navigate to the Label Definitions section as mentioned earlier.
- Locate the Label Definition: Find the label definition you want to delete.
- Delete Label Definition: Select the option "Delete" from the "Actions" button
