Welcome to the tutorial on how to set up library working days and closures in BiblioTECH. This feature helps you manage due dates for library resources effectively by accounting for non-working days. In this guide, you'll learn how to configure your library's working days, including the option to include or exclude Saturdays and Sundays as non-working days. Let's get started!

Accessing the Calendar Tool
  • Log In: Begin by logging into your BiblioTECH account using your credentials.
  • Navigate to Calendar: Once logged in, navigate to the side menu, click on Settings then click on the Calendar button to access the Calendar area.

Setting Library Working Days
  • View Calendar: Upon accessing the Calendar tool, you'll be presented with a calendar interface. This calendar allows you to mark specific days as working or non-working for your library.
  • Select the year you need to configure.
  • Select Working Days: By default all the days in the calendar are working days, you only need to mark the non-working days.
  • Define Non-Working Days: Next, identify the days when your library will be closed or non-operational. You can do this by clicking on the respective days in the calendar. Non-working days are typically holidays, weekends, or other occasions when the library is closed to the public.

Including Saturdays and Sundays
  • Configure Weekends: In some cases, libraries may include Saturdays and Sundays as non-working days. To enable this feature, check the tick boxes that correspond to Saturdays and Sundays. This will automatically mark all Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year as non-working days.
  • Manual Adjustment: If your library follows a different schedule and only certain Saturdays or Sundays are non-working days, you can manually mark or unmark specific dates in the calendar.

Saving Your Settings
  • Review Your Calendar: Take a moment to review your calendar to ensure that all working and non-working days are correctly marked.
  • Click Save: Once you are satisfied with your calendar settings, click the "Save" button to apply them.

Start of the Year Procedure
  • Implementation: Setting up your library's working days and closures is typically part of the Start of the Year Procedure. This ensures that the due dates for resources are adjusted according to your library's operating schedule.

You've successfully configured library working days and closures in BiblioTECH. This feature helps ensure that due dates for resources are accurately calculated, considering both working and non-working days. Thank you for using BiblioTECH to streamline your library's operations and improve patron service!
