Search Manager Overview

- Begin by logging into your BiblioTECH account.
- Click on the "Search" button located on the left side menu to access the Search Module.
Search Filters
- Explore the various filters available to refine your search:
- Search Options:
- Hide copies
- Hide lost resources
- Hide ordered
- When sorting by title, list exact matches first
- Search Mode:
- Whole word
- Start of the word
- Anywhere
- Sort results by (any field):
- Ascending
- Descending
- Collections
- Genres
- Advanced Search:
- Searchable Fields: Add one or multiple fields to filter the search.
- Result Fields: Add one or multiple fields to be displayed in the results list.
- Detailed View Fields: Add one or multiple fields to be displayed in the detailed view of the results.
Customising Filters
- Adjust the filters to meet your specific search criteria. Admins or librarians can save these adjustments as defaults for all users.
- Once your filters are set, type the word or words you're looking for in the search bar.
- Click the 'Search' button to initiate the search.
- A list of corresponding resources will be displayed.
- Each resource has a "+" symbol, which opens up the details of that resource.
- Each resource also has a tick box that you can use to add the selected resource to the Bibliographic List.
See and See Also
The "See and See Also" tab will display subjects related with your search. You can click on related subjects to discover resources related to your search subjects.
- At the top of the results list, you'll find three buttons:
- Clear Selected: This button clears all the tick marks from the results list.
- Add List: Use this button to add results to the Bibliographic List.
- Bibliographic List: Click here to display the results previously added to the list. You can also print this list.
With the Search module, you now have a powerful tool to quickly and effectively search your database for the resources you need. Whether you're a librarian building collections or a user searching for specific items, these features make your search experience smoother.
