BiblioTECH's Loan Manager streamlines the process of managing loans for your library's resources. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps of performing loans, setting due dates, sending email notifications, and managing loans efficiently.

Accessing Circulation Manager
  • Start by logging in to your BiblioTECH web app account.
  • Once logged in, navigate to the dashboard.
  • From the dashboard, select the "Circulation" button. This is where you manage and process loans for your patrons.

Initiating a Loan
Here's how to perform a loan using BiblioTECH's Loan Manager:
  • To initiate a loan, begin by scanning the patron's barcode or typing their name into the search field. Alternatively, you can select the patron's group from the list and then choose the patron's name.
  • If the patron has reservations available or trap messages, you'll receive pop-up notifications displaying this information.
  • Now, scan the barcode of the resource that the patron wishes to borrow. If the barcode is found, the resource will be added to the patron's list of loans. Alternatively, you can manually search for a resource by typing its name and selecting it from the search results by clicking the "Loan" button.
  • After scanning the resource, you might receive pop-up messages if there are trap messages for the resource, an active reservation for it, or if the patron has reached the maximum number of allowed loans.

Managing Loans
In loans section of BiblioTECH's Circulation Manager, you have several options for managing loans efficiently:
  • Bulk Actions: Apply bulk actions to the loaned resources, including:
    • Select a New Due Date: Modify the due date for multiple resources at once.
    • Re-loan: Renew the loan period for selected resources.
    • Return: Mark resources as returned.
    • Record as Lost: If a resource is lost or damaged, record it as lost.
    • Print Notice: Generate and print loan notices for patrons.
  • Single Resource Actions: You can also apply the same actions individually to specific resources using the "Actions" button.
  • Download Button: Next to the "Bulk Actions" button, you'll find a download button that allows you to save a list of the loaned resources.

Force Due Date Disable: By ticking this box, the system will disregard any previously set due dates for the patron's loans.

Due Dates: Use this button to set various due dates, such as Global Due Date, Year Due Date, Semester Due Date, and Term Due Date. Adjust these dates as needed.

Email Notifications
To send email notifications to patrons with overdue resources:
  • Select the patron whose overdue resources you want to notify them about.
  • Click on the "Email" button. This will send an email notification to the patron, listing all overdue resources in their possession.

By following these steps, you can efficiently manage loans, set due dates, and send email notifications to patrons using BiblioTECH's Loan Manager. This tool is designed to simplify the loan process and enhance communication with library users. Thank you for using BiblioTECH for your library management needs.
