There are a number of 'global' settings which affect Searching, refer to the Search section under System Utilities for details
These only apply to the 'local' computer - each computer has independent 'local' settings.
When the Search module starts up it loads its 'default' settings.
These can be changed temporarily by adjusting the approriate setting (either one of the main controls or under the Options menu).
You can change the "Default" settings by selecting the Modify Defaut Local Settings from the Option menu

Hide Lost ResourcesIf ticked, then resources marked as lost will not be returned in the Search Results
Hide Ordered ResourcesIf ticked, then resources marked as ordered will not be returned in the Search Results
Hide URL DetailsIf a resource contains a URL entry, then on the Details View panel, the URL will be displayed.If ticked, the URL display will be replaced by Click to Launch Link
When sorting by Title, list exact matches firstNormally, results would be sorted by Title. However, if this is ticked then results will be sorted by their 'exactness' of match
1 - Results where the Title eaxctly matches the search text
2 - Results where the search text is at the start of the title
3 - Results where the search text is somewhere in the title
4 - Resuls where the search words are in the title
5 - Results where the search words are not in the title (ie. found in another field)
PrintingIf ticked, then printing is enabled
Internet AccessIf ticked, then Internet Access is enabled
SoundIf ticked, then the Search Module will use sounds
BibliographyIf ticked, then the Bibliography sub-system will be enabled
Show Borrower DetailsIf ticked, then the Search Module will display the Borrower details if a resource is on loan.
NB Borrower Details will only be displayed when Hide Copies is NOT ticked.
Global Settings (apply to ALL client computers)
There are several global settings that apply to the Search Module – refer to the BT8 System Utilities module under the Search TAB for details.
Local Settings (apply to this computer only)
Under the Options menu select Modify Local Settings. This panel details the settings used when the module starts. This panel is password protected. If you enable a feature (ie Printing) here, the function will be enabled when Search starts – no password would be required.
